In as much as no formal announcement has been made to this effect, we know there is a mid year budget review coming up and leading members of both party and government have in recent times been making statements ostensibly to prepare the minds of Ghanaians to accept these obnoxious, wicked and burdensome tax policies to be imposed on an already suffering population and a suffocating business environment. We are astonished  to see a  daily increase in prices of goods and services Value Added Tax (VAT) is a broadly based consumption tax assessed on the value added to goods and services. It applies more or less to all goods and services that are bought and sold for use or consumption. From all indications,the government is to raise the rate of tax from 17.5% -21% which is about 4.5% increment.It appears the government of the day has proven it's insensitivity to the plight of Ghanaians.
